Methods of my case study!

I have chosen this particular company as their mission is to provide a new technology that will develop the medicine side by using Artificial Intelligence. Their da Vinci surgeon system is helping in many areas in healthcare, such as urology, kidney cancer, prostate cancer treatment, removal of uterus and uterine fibroids. Intuitive surgical is helping surgeon and patients from around the world with their da Vinci system and it is less invasive method of surgery(da Vinci Surgery (Robot-Assisted) | EvergreenHealth, 2020). Secondly, my research theme is about an AI in medicine so it fits my project perfectly as I am gaining more knowledge about aspects of robotic surgeries, which was main thing of choosing Intuitive Surgical for my case study research theme.

Process of founding this Company was long, at the beginning Dr. Frederic Moll was introduced to John Freund - former employee Acuson Corporation. They negotiated option of achieving SRI's patent and created new company named Intuitive Surgical Devices, Inc. Moreover, first investors of the firm were Sierra Ventures, Morgan Stanley and Mayfield Funds.(Intuitive Surgical, Inc. - Company Profile, Information, Business Description, History, Background Information on Intuitive Surgical, Inc., n.d.) In 2000 they finally released the da Vinci Surgical Software, since then it had a large amount of upgrades and improvements (Intuitive Surgical, n.d.).
